I presented and moderated a panel discussion at an event last night organized by St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts. I think about 50 people attended, including visual artists, musicians, and storytellers. We considered the opportunities that online and social marketing present to artist and what they needed to consider as they though about creating site and marketing plan. We had an interesting discussion and hopefully artist that attended took away something of value.
Sue Greenberg of the VLAA organized the panel, which included Jim Dunn of Big Fat Cat, Management and Public Relations, Tracey Moore Clay of Tracey Moore Graphics and a lecturer at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University, and Emily Blumefeld of Via Partnership a public art and project consultancy. Ken Konchel, a professional photographer who works with the VLAA helped the panel out and provided some good counsel to the artists in attendence. will be on projector duty. The event was held at the (relatively) new Regional Arts Commission building on Delmar in the Univercity City Loop, which is a great facility.
I promised I would post my presentation for the attendees (Download PDF of Presentation). My apologies for not getting the document up sooner. I encourage you to post comments and questions here at my blog, and I will psot my answers here so everyone has access to them.
